Exercise is a great way to prepare yourself mentally and physically for childbirth, and to help your body recover afterwards. While it’s best not to over-do it, regular low-impact exercise strengthens your muscles, improves your mood by increasing endorphins and can reduce backaches, stiffness and labour pain considerably.
Please consult your GP before starting any new kind of exercise regime. I can recommend and teach techniques which have helped me and other mums, but everybody is different. Be sure to start at a level that is comfortable for you.
