Orange (Citrus Sinensis)

Written by FairyDoula. Posted in Essential Oils

I love to use orange oil, it’s a wonderful tonic which promotes feelings of happiness and warmth. Smells gorgeous! Raises energy & spirit! Orange oil’s properties are antiseptic, anti-depressant, anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic and diuretic. It acts as a lymphatic stimulant, balancing water processes and helping detoxification. Orange oil, like other citrus oils such as Lemon, Bergamot and Grapefruit, is considered safe for use throughout pregnancy. However these types of citrus oils can cause photosensitivity if applied to the skin (for example, as an ingredient in massage oil) so it is recommended not to expose yourself to direct sunlight for at least twelve hours after application.
